New south stands are plush

Will the Denver Broncos' rowdy south stands fans be the same when they move into Invesco Field at Mile High?

Will they be as wild, bare-chested and crazy once they are ergonomically correct?

Or will they grow tame and mild when they discover creature comforts such as real seats and cup holders?

These and other deep-seated questions remain to be answered as the people who endured the cold, hard benches of the old Mile High's south stands settle into their new digs.

Stay tuned. But one thing is for sure in the new seats: Girth rules.

In the old Mile High, the average seat width was 18 inches. In the new stadium, the minimum seat width is 19 inches.

Some of the seats in the old Mile High had cup holders. In the new stadium, every fan gets a cup holder.

One more change -- just as the Broncos' logo has changed, so have the seat colors. Whereas the old stadium's seats were predominantly orange, the new seats are predominantly blue.

There are two more seats in the new stadium. The legislature mandated that the new stadium not be downsized.

Instead, it's been super-sized.
