'It's beautiful' seems to be consensus of Broncos fans

Judging from first impressions, Invesco Field at Mile High is a big hit with most Denver Broncos season-ticket holders.

"It's beautiful," said Gerald Cruz of Highlands Ranch. "For a sporting place like this, this is the best there could ever be. First, there was Coors Field and the Pepsi Center, and this beats them all.

"Mile High Stadium had more mystique and history. By now, hopefully, that has jumped over to here with that horse right up there underneath that blanket."

The bucking Bronco atop the south stands hadn't yet been unveiled when Broncos season-ticket holders were given a sneak preview recently.

"So far, it looks beautiful," Bruce Baird of Littleton said. "It's hard to tell without 75,000 people. It looks like they have more restrooms."

Fans seemed impressed with the three scoreboards, the more spacious concourses, additional leg room, wider seats and, yes, more restrooms.

"It looks like you are closer to the field than at Mile High," Curtis Karkoski of Aurora said. "We were impressed by the clearness of the pictures on the scoreboard. It's nice to have more scoreboards.

"The seats were fine and seemed a little bigger than the ones at the old place. I know they are bigger than the ones at the Pepsi Center. We were in shorts, but I'm sure you'll be able to bundle up on a cold day without worrying about scrunching the people next to you."

Although the stadium got high marks, fans kept customer relations representatives busy, mostly with complaints about seat relocations.

"It is perhaps one of the best stadiums in the world," Paul Friedman of Denver said. "Our only complaint is they deceived us with the vote. It should have been made clear, the seating situation. It should have been spelled out.

"It's a matter of principle. If I had known it, I would have voted against it. It was the idea of what they did. They didn't tell anybody until it was too late.

"The other thing I am equally angry about is the naming rights. The majority of the people didn't want it. They were willing to forgo the extra money that they would save, but the committee still did it. They got $120 million from Invesco and gave the Broncos $60 million.

"Why didn't they give it all to the taxpayers?"
