Perspective
Proud reign
Before Mile High Stadium is turned into twisted girders, broken glass, crushed concrete and memories, she still has at least one more Broncos game to host, still has one more day left in her battleship-gray body.
And what's a day in her life like?
Amole: When Bill Reed, Bears Stadium ruled Denver's sporting world Denver was ready for professional baseball when the Denver Bears came out of the past and started playing at Merchants' Park on South Broadway. It soon became clear that the old ballpark wouldn't hold all the fans who wanted to see the games.
Krieger: Frigid night of football frozen in time, mind The photograph on yellowed newsprint shows Louis Wright standing amid a thousand points of light, as if his head is among the stars. Teammates Rubin Carter, Jim Ryan and Dennis Smith are coming toward him, and now that you look, those points of light are everywhere.
Lincicome: The burning question: How to say goodbye Nevertheless, this week even late arrivals are required to have memories of Mile High Stadium. And one of the most lasting for me is of Michael Dean Perry dawdling. Didn't get his fat frame off the field in time. Remember? Cost the Denver Broncos the game against Jacksonville and reduced the Broncos from three Super Bowls to two.
