-EMILIO V. ALVAREZ, 75, of Commerce City died Jan. 9. Services were Jan. 13, with burial at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Mr. Alvarez was born in Gilcrest on June 25, 1925. He married Lupe Bernal. He served in the Army during World War II. He was an accountant at the Air Force Accounting and Finance Center. Survivors include sons Paul of Broomfield, Jerome and Edouard, both of California, Gabriel and Marco, both of Commerce City; 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
-VERNE L. ANDERSON, 76, of Castle Rock died Jan. 6. Services were Jan. 11 with entombment at Chapel Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Anderson was born in Oakland, Calif., on Dec. 3, 1924. She married Leonard Anderson, 1953. She was a flight attendant for Continental Airlines and a homemaker. Survivors include her husband; daughter Karen of Denver; son Eric of Littleton; two grandchildren.
-JIM ASIMOS, 65, of Lakewood died Jan. 7. Services were Jan. 11, with burial at Crown Hill Cemetery. Mr. Asimos was born in Athens, Greece, on Nov. 18, 1935. He owned a construction business. Survivors include daughter Adrienne of Lakewood; sons Giff of California, Tom of Florida, Nick of Lakewood; sister Vivian Gunnels of New Mexico; seven grandchildren.
-BLANCHE O. BAILEY, 98, of Wheat Ridge died Jan. 7. Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15, at Exempla Colorado Lutheran Home. Mrs. Bailey was born Blanche Carmichael in Mound City, Mo., on Sept. 7, 1902. She married Earl Bryan Bailey. She was a saleswoman at fabric stores in Denver. Survivors include son Earl of Broomfield; a grandchild; six great-grandchildren.
-H. RAYMOND BENSON, 99, of Denver died Jan. 9. Services were Jan. 13. Mr. Benson was born in Providence, R.I., on June 21, 1901. He married Anna Mildren Olson, 1929. He was a manager at Westinghouse Electric Co. for 40 years. Survivors include sons Bradford of Denver, Harold of Washington, D.C.; three grandchildren.
-TAMMY L. CLEVELAND, 30, of Denver died Jan. 6. Services were Jan. 13. Ms. Cleveland was born in Denver on Dec. 4, 1970. Survivors include daughter Brianna; son Elias; parents Virgil and Josefine; sister Geri Pino; brothers Tony and Richard Gonzales; fiance Lonnie DuVall, all of Denver.
-KATHRYN IMOGENE DENT, 75, of Loveland died Jan. 4. Private services were held. Mrs. Dent was born Kathryn Davis in Kersey on March 7, 1925. She married Lawrence Dent, 1947. She was a secretary for Union Pacific. Survivors include sons Lawrence of Durango, Jerry of Walden; daughters Charlene and Charlotte, both of Loveland; stepdaughter Mary Ann McDaniels of Denver; brothers Dean Davis of Greeley, Elwood Davis of Arizona; sister Charlotte Crook of Texas; seven grandchildren.
-JOSEPH G. ESPINOZA, 64, of Commerce City died Jan. 8. Services were Jan. 12 with burial at Elmwood Cemetery. Mr. Espinoza was born in Rugby on Dec. 16, 1936. He married Laura Randa. He was a custodian for School District 14. Survivors include his wife; son Joseph; daughters Grace, Terri, Maria, Sally; stepchildren Chris, Joe, Pam; numerous grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
-MILDRED LOUISE HANEY, 87, of Denver died Dec. 31. Services were Jan. 4, with burial at Crown Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Haney was born Mildred Koch in Haven, Kan., on June 10, 1913. She married Clarence Haney, 1949. She retired from Symonds-Atkinson Optical Co. She was a member of the Photography Club at Highland Senior Center. Survivors include her husband; daughters Sandra Sabin of Denver, Marilyn Gunther of Lakewood, Jeanne Risley of Parker; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
-BETTY HOLFORD, 76, of Denver died Dec. 29. Services were Jan. 4, with burial at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Mrs. Holford was born Betty Lattin in Alton, Ill., on Oct. 4, 1924. She married Forest Holford, 1940. She was a homemaker and retired from Rocky Mountain Demo. Survivors include her husband; sons David and Michael, both of Federal Heights, John of Arizona; daughter Laura Green of Federal Heights; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
-JOHN G. KALCEVIC, 91, of Brighton died Jan. 7. Services were Jan. 12, with burial at Mountain View Cemetery. Mr. Kalcevic was born in Denver on June 9, 1909. He married Julia Drobnitch, 1935, then Virginia Nelson, 1969. He owned and operated Kalcevic Farms Inc. and was general manager of REA, now United Power Inc. He was a member of Brighton Elks Lodge 1586, Western Salvonic Lodge and Croatian Fraternal Union. Survivors include his wife; sons John and James of Bennett, Joseph and Ronald of Brighton; daughter Sharee Strasboiro of Denver; brother Joseph of Bennett; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
-JAMES J. KENEFICK, 70, of Aurora died Jan. 6. Services were Jan. 11 with burial at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Mr. Kenefick was born in Schenectady, N.Y., on Dec. 20, 1930. He served in the Army. He married Jean Evelyn Bushel, 1956. He was self-employed in the sales and marketing fields. -RUTH SPARKS OLSON, 89, of Denver died Jan. 1. Services were Jan. 13. Mrs. Olson was born in Denver on Sept. 13, 1911. She married Russell Vincent Olson. She was an accounts-payable clerk for the U.S. government. She was a member of Unity Chapter Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile and Tuesday Club. Survivors include daughter Barbara Guerin of Denver; sister Dorothy Lute of Littleton; brother Harold Sparks of California; four grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

He was a farmer and retired bus mechanic and shop foreman for Boulder Valley School District.
