This 360° image shows a more cooperative classroom set-up that differs from a traditional row-by-row system. Ebert Elementary teacher Erin O'Grady says allowing kids the ability to work together in groups fosters a community. She doesn't teach her third-graders as a whole group from the desks. O'Grady pulls them into a sitting group in the larger empty space on the floor.

"Having them move back to their desks from the floor is important," O'Grady says. "The physical movement helps break things up."
